The legal position, stated plainly
Choosing your baby's sex through PGD is not permitted in the United Kingdom and most of Europe. In North Cyprus it is legal. That single difference is why most of our gender selection patients fly here. We think you deserve the facts stated this clearly, because plenty of websites blur them.
How it actually works
The treatment is a normal IVF cycle with one extra step. Once embryos reach the blastocyst stage, a few cells are taken from each and tested. The analysis identifies the chromosomal sex of every embryo with an accuracy above 99 percent, and at the same time it screens all chromosomes. So alongside choosing a boy or a girl, you also learn which embryos are chromosomally healthy, which is valuable in itself, particularly after miscarriages or failed transfers.
Who comes to us for this
Mostly parents with two or three children of the same sex who want to complete their family. Some carry genetic conditions linked to one sex, where selection is a medical decision rather than a preference. Either way, the conversation with our doctors is unhurried and honest, and if the treatment is not right for you, we will tell you.
Timing and stay
The schedule matches a standard IVF cycle: preparation at home, around six days in Cyprus. Results of embryo testing are discussed with you before any transfer decision is made. Nothing is transferred without your explicit choice.
